Comments: Joe, also known as "the professor", has been playing drums since 1981 and an instructor at
Drummer's Choice
since 1999. He is a graduate of the Humber College Music
Programme, having majored in performance. Joe was also a devoted
student of master instructor Jim Blackley, and has completed eight years of private study with him.
Currently, Joe is part of a jazz combo called "The Jazz Folks", who perform standards as well as original compositions. A
significant musical accomplishment of his was being cast for the TV film "Hendrix" starring Wood Harris and Vivica A. Fox,
where he portrayed his drumming idol Keith Moon. Besides drumming, Joe enjoys watching horror films and (accordingly)
collecting "Who" memorabilia.
Joe's three favourite albums: A Love Supreme by John Coltrane,
The White Album by The Beatles, and Who's Next by The Who.

Ilios began playing drums in 1984 and has been teaching since 2000. He received a degree from York University's Faculty of Fine Arts
in Music Performance and also spent a year studying at Berklee College in Boston. In a one-on-one setting, Ilios has
engaged in studies with instructors such as Joe Pace, Paul
DeLong, Ian Froman, and Joe Hunt.
Ilios can currently be seen performing with "National Anthem", an original Toronto-area rock band. His proudest musical
accomplishment was both playing and recording with Jane
Bunnett. Besides drumming and making music, Ilios loves spending
his downtime hitting the ice, playing hockey.

Neil began playing drums in 1985 at the age of nineteen. Today he's the longest serving instructor at
Drummer's Choice
having taught here since 1992. He spent five years at the Ontario College of Percussion, and studied privately with Paul Robson,
Robin Boers, Rod Fogarty, and most recently Jim Blackley. Besides drumming, Neil's favourite hobby is playing golf, and his
proudest musical accomplishment is teaching his son Liam to play drums. Neil endorses Regal Tip sticks, and can currently be seen
performing throughout Ontario with the Marc Ekins Band and
finished a successful Summer tour
opening for The Road Hammers, Aaron
Pritchett and Great Big Sea.

Dave has been playing drums since 1985 and began teaching in 1987. He has completed one year of study in York University's
Faculty of Fine Arts Music Programme, and three years at Humber College for performance. Dave has studied in a one-on-one
setting with instructors such as Jim Blackley, Paul
DeLong, Rick Gratton, Mike O'Leary and most recently Vito
Rezza.
During his career, Dave has had the opportunity to meet and share music with many wonderful artists in diverse musical genres.
He has performed on national and international tours, on TV shows and commercials, and has recorded over thirty albums.
Dave's primary musical project is his original band "Special Ed and the Musically Challenged". His time away from playing
music and teaching is most often spent practicing martial arts.
Dave's three favourite albums: The Koln Concert by Keith Jarrett,
Fresh by Sly and the Family Stone, and Negotiations and
Love Songs by Paul Simon.

the course of his playing career, Vincent
has been involved in numerous projects.
He currently spends his time playing

Beginning in 2004, Vincent spent two

research on Afro-Cuban music and culture,

Choice student. Mike has earned his Dilpolma

his Bachelors in Muisc Jazz Studies. Mike is
also very invovled in the marching band
world as a designer, instructor and

has incredible versatility in all genres of
music. He has been Head Teacher at the
reputable Ontario College of Percussion for
23 years, teaching many Jazz drummers such
as Howie Silverman (Moe Koffman), Greg
Critchley (Kim Mitchell), and Jeff Salem
(Saints & Sinners). This versatile and
accomplished virtuoso played and recorded
with the likes of B.B. King, Paul Shaffer,
Jimi Hendrix, Toronto Symphony Orchestra,
and The Ugly Ducklings. He also played
alongside with the Beach Boys and the
Rolling Stones. Other local Jazz favorites
include Dick Felix, Lenny Boyd, Norm Bernard
(Woody Herman), and Cecil Frenette.
